Cursor Meetup Sydney #2

Join us for the official Cursor meetup in Sydney! An evening of ideas, code, and AI-powered workflows with fellow builders who are shaping the future of software development using Cursor.

Designers, students, SWE and even PMs are all welcome. Whether you’re deep into your daily .cursor flow or just curious about how AI can supercharge your dev experience, this event is for everybody.

We’re hosting it at Atlassian, right in the heart of the city. Expect short talks, demos, real stories, and plenty of time to meet other Cursor users and AI-curious developers over drinks and pizza.

At this meetup, we had engineers, product managers, designers, people in tech, and people outside tech entirely. It was really cool to have such a diverse crowd discussing this movement of building with AI.

Highlights

Freya Stockman will be the first to tell you she’s new to Cursor, having only used it actively for two months – yet there she was on stage sharing tips and ideas that many in the audience (myself included) hadn’t come across. It was super inspiring hearing about how her team at Relevance AI have leveraged Cursor to bridge disciplines.

William Kirkwood was completely open about his six month journey building Luck, happily sharing his experiences and strategies for building with Cursor from a non-technical background. William’s focus comes from his product management experience, and it was clear from the talk that it’s a powerful combo when combined with coding agents.

Apurva Misra’s talk was brilliantly grounded, focusing on the real challenges and skills needed to work effectively with AI. She generously stepped up to present with very little notice, and you can catch her insights at the Web Directions Engineering AI conference.

And a big thanks to Juan Bautista Martinez from Cursor for giving us a sneak peek at what’s coming next in future builds!
